Prerequisites:

1. Be certified as: open water, advanced open water, rescue diver, medic first aid and dive master.
2. Medical exam by a physician that states that you are fit for diving, using the PADI form.
3. 100 dives logged.
4. CROSS-OVER: Be Certified as an Open water Instructor from another organization within 6 months and be recognized by PADI.
Materials:

1. Equipment; bcd, regulator, wet suit, mask, fins and snorkel.
2. IDC Candidate workbook, Instructor Manual, Diving knowledge workbook, open water, advanced, rescue and divemaster manuals.
3. Slates for confined water and open water (including IDC).
